What a great Hospital.
I had no idea it was here until it appeared as an NHS option for an Orthopeadic appointment.
All staff I met were polite and really friendly, putting me at ease.
If I have the opportunity to choose One Hatfield again, rest assured I will.

I went for a doctor to have a look at my throat as I was worried about hoarseness. The consultant was very good but I felt the examination wasn't thorough enough.
My main concern is that after paying the consultants fee I thought that was it. However a month after paying him I received a invoice for £150 for the consultants hire of the camera they put down my throat. I would have thought this was part of the payment as the whole appointment lasted about 20 minutes and the camera for about 5 minutes (bit steep for camera hire for 5 minutes). Also why didn't they bill me for the whole process rather than send another bill a month later?
Furthermore I think paying £450 for a consultation that lasted 20 minutes is rather excessive. The £300 fee was communicated verbally but the hire of the camera was mentioned in a letter I didn't think I needed to read as I thought the appointment was booked and cost £300.
I feel as I have been ripped off quite honestly. I was reasonably happy at £300 - at £450 - NO

Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review. Consultation fees are confirmed at the time of booking but if any tests or investigations are needed there is often an additional charge. We are always completely transparent about all charges. It sounds like the charge was communicated by letter but not verbally. The whole experience was amazing consultants and all staff I came across were very caring and helpful would like to give nurses Sharon and Becky a huge thank you they were amazing

I arrived, and was warmly welcomed by the reception staff. The nurses ( angels) took great care to make sure I was well informed and well looked after. The consultant whom I knew visited me and gave me a full explanation of my pending procedure. I had a quick visit from the anesthesiologist who asked me some medical history questions.
In the operating theatre, it was very straight forward and quick, ( felt a bit cold & unwelcoming, but hey it's a serious job.) I then woke in recovery to the angels who took great care of me and were very just so very kind.
The food was excellent and the Catering lady was lovely...I even got and extra pot of Tea..!
All in all, a great safe experience and I would recommend the One Hatfield Hospital to anyone..!

I had hip replacement surgery and stayed 3 nights. Very pleased with the professional expertise and high level of care throughout. All the staff were friendly and helpful, and the catering and cleanliness very good. As a result of this and the follow-up physio, I'm making good progress.
